Brownfield Engineering

Because Brownfield projects involve retrofitting, expansion, replacement, and maintenance while existing facilities and structures are operational, an accurate understanding of the current status is crucial. In the oil and gas, petrochemical, shipbuilding and marine, and industrial plant sectors, JANGSUNG HDS utilizes 3D laser scanning to precisely record the actual shapes and locations of existing facilities, building As-Built data that can be used for design and engineering.

3D Laser Scanning & As-Built

We create a high-density point cloud by 3D scanning an existing plant where piping, equipment, steel structures, and surrounding facilities are complexly arranged. Based on the actual data acquired on-site, we verify discrepancies between existing drawings and current conditions, providing accurate basic data that can be utilized for modification and expansion design, piping and equipment layout review, reverse engineering, and as-built modeling.

Clash Detection & Constructability Review

Using accurate 3D as-is data of existing facilities makes it possible to review the installation space for new piping, equipment, and structures in advance. By comparing design data with the actual site in 3D to review potential interferences and clashes, and by verifying installability and workspace prior to construction, it can be used to reduce the risks of on-site re-measurement and rework.

360° Virtual Site & Remote Review

By utilizing site images and spatial data acquired during the 3D scanning process, digital site information can be built that allows actual site conditions to be checked even from the office. Design and engineering personnel can use this to reduce repeated site visits, verify equipment locations, consult on designs, and conduct remote site reviews.

Dimensional Control

JANGSUNG HDS reviews the positions and dimensions of existing facilities and newly manufactured or installed targets utilizing 3D scanning and precision measurement data. Based on actual site conditions, it verifies installation suitability and the positional relationships of connection points in advance, reducing the risks of dimensional mismatches, interference, and rework that may occur on-site, thereby supporting more stable installation and construction.
