3D Scanning · Reverse Engineering

JANGSUNG HDS performs reverse engineering based on 3D Scanning data for everything from small products and precision parts to machinery, equipment, and large structures, and produces 3D models, CAD data, and drawings tailored to the intended use. When you have an actual product or part but no design drawings, when drawings have been lost due to age, or when discontinued parts need to be remanufactured for various purposes, we perform precision 3D scanning on the physical object and restore its shape and dimensions into digital data.

Based on Point Cloud and Mesh data acquired through 3D scanning, we analyze the shapes of products, parts, and mechanical components and reconstruct them into CAD models. Depending on the purpose and target of the work, STEP(STP), IGES, 3D CAD model, Mesh data, 2D drawing and can produce various types of results, and can be utilized for the restoration and remanufacturing of existing parts, design changes, product development, dimension verification, and CAD data generation.

We perform reverse engineering and As-built data construction not only for small precision parts, but also in the fields of large machinery, equipment, and plants. We can model complex plant components such as piping, structures, machinery, cable trays, vessels, and tanks into 3D geometry, and the constructed data can be utilized in related engineering environments such as PDMS and SmartPlant 3D. JANGSUNG HDS, based on physical assets, From 3D scanning to reverse engineering, CAD modeling, and application data creation We provide services tailored to the target audience and purpose.

3D Scanning reverse engineering can be utilized when parts or products without drawings need to be remade, discontinued parts need to be restored, or designs need to be modified based on the shape and dimensions of existing products. By directly 3D scanning the physical object, its shape and dimensions are acquired as digital data, which can then be produced in formats such as STEP (STP), IGES, 3D CAD models, mesh data, and 2D drawings depending on the intended use.

JANGSUNG HDS provides 3D scanning and reverse engineering services for objects of various sizes and shapes, ranging from small precision parts and general products to machinery, equipment, facilities, and large structures. We create the reverse engineering data required to meet our customers' purposes, such as part remanufacturing, product development, design modification, dimension verification, and CAD data generation.

In the plant and heavy equipment sector, our existing expertise is fully utilized. We can perform 3D Scannings of operating facilities or facilities where existing drawings differ from actual site conditions to build As-built data, and create 3D CAD data of onsite shapes such as piping, structures, cable trays, vessels, and tanks. The generated data can be used as basic material for facility modifications, replacements, and repairs, clash detection, maintenance, and future expansions.

When 3D scanning and reverse engineering are needed

3D Scanning-based reverse engineering can be utilized when you need to restore design data for parts with missing or lost drawings, recreate discontinued parts based on physical samples, need CAD data to modify existing products or develop new ones, accurately 3D model products, machinery, and equipment with complex shapes, and require as-built data reflecting the current state of existing facilities and plants.
