Nuclear Power

3D laser scanning for status recording and engineering of nuclear and power generation facilities

Nuclear and power generation facilities are densely packed with complex piping, equipment, and structures, making accurate current-status data crucial for engineering tasks such as retrofitting, maintenance, and equipment replacement. 3D laser scanning precisely records the actual shapes and locations of existing facilities in a non-contact manner, enabling the establishment of objective 3D spatial data that can be used for design review, status analysis, and future engineering.

As-Built 3D Data & Design Support

Point clouds acquired through 3D laser scanning precisely record the actual installation status of piping, equipment, structures, and the surrounding space. By building 3D data of on-site information that is difficult to verify with existing drawings alone, it can be utilized for design reviews for remodeling, maintenance, and equipment replacement, as-built modeling, clash detection, and as basic engineering data.

Remote Site Review & Digital Documentation

By utilizing 3D scan data and site images, you can repeatedly review equipment locations and surrounding spaces from the office even after visiting the site. For facilities with restricted access or where repeated site visits must be minimized, such digital site information can be used as an effective resource for design discussions, work planning, and remote site reviews.

Decommissioning & Modification Planning

Long-operated facilities may have discrepancies between existing drawings and actual conditions due to repeated renovations and equipment changes. Recording the current state with 3D laser scanning before demolition or major renovation allows for reviewing the work scope and spatial conditions based on the actual equipment layout and surrounding structures, and can be used as As-Built basic data to establish demolition, dismantling, and renovation plans.

JANGSUNG HDS applies suitable 3D scanning methods considering the scale of the target facility, site conditions, and the purpose of data utilization, and builds the acquired data into point clouds and various spatial information for engineering. Based on accurate as-is documentation, we support the creation of essential digital foundational data required for everything from design review to remodeling, maintenance, equipment replacement, and demolition planning.
