(Marine/Offshore & Onshore) Plant 3D Scanning
In large-scale plant and shipbuilding and offshore projects, modules and structures produced in various fabrication yards must be accurately connected at the final site. JANGSUNG HDS 3D scans modules, piping, equipment, and structures at the fabrication stage and compares them with design data to review the actual fabricated shapes and dimensions. Through this, it is possible to verify the positional relationships of connection points and major interfaces before site delivery and installation, which can be utilized to reduce the risk of dimensional discrepancies and rework that may occur during the installation stage.
During hook-up operations for offshore plants and large modules, it is essential to verify interface locations and shapes in advance to ensure that different fabrication sections and equipment can be precisely connected on-site. Using 3D scanning and dimensional control, tie-in points, piping connection points, structures, and major installation locations are precisely measured, and design data is compared with the actual fabrication status to support hook-up and installation reviews.
Comparing the 3D data acquired during the construction process with the design model allows you to verify the actual installation status of piping, equipment, and structures, and to review discrepancies with the design. In addition, it can be used as basic data for reviewing the construction sequence and making on-site decisions by proactively analyzing potential interferences and clashes between subsequent installation targets and existing construction structures.
The 3D scan data acquired at each stage of the project can be used as digital data to objectively record the manufacturing and construction status. After final completion, point clouds and As-Built data reflecting the actual installation status can be built and used for completion review, facility status management, and future remodeling, expansion, and maintenance tasks.
