Offshore plant Topside module 3D clash detection

This is a project that analyzes potential interferences and collisions along the actual installation route in advance by utilizing 3D scanning and reverse engineering data prior to offshore plant topside module installation.

We pre-3D scanned and reverse-engineered the installation areas for interconnected modules to build their actual shapes into digital data, and then analyzed potential interference locations during the module movement and installation process using 3D simulations. The analysis results were compiled into a report identifying expected collision locations and target equipment so that the EPC company could review necessary measures prior to installation.

The clearance review was performed based on the site conditions as close as possible to the actual lifting and installation timing to ensure that the latest As-Built conditions were reflected in the analysis. In this project, 3D clearance reviews were conducted for 20 modules of the offshore plant topsides, helping to identify potential collision factors prior to lifting and to review necessary measures.
