Gwanryongsa Temple is a branch temple of Tongdosa Temple, the head temple of the 15th district of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, and is a temple with a long history. The Daeungjeon Hall of Gwanryongsa Temple is designated as a treasure, and a large Buddhist altar is installed inside.

This project Precisely recording the current state by 3D scanning not only the external shape of the Buddhist altar in the Daeungjeon Hall, but also its inner surface and the stonework supporting the Buddha statue.was conducted with the aim of doing.

For traditional wooden structures such as Buddhist altars, it is important to record not only their externally visible shapes, but also their internal structures and the arrangement of their components.

JANGSUNG HDS performs 3D Scannings at multiple locations and registers each scan data to build the Point Cloud data of the entire Buddhist altarIt was done. Through this, complex shapes that are difficult to capture through general photography or manual measurement alone can be recorded as 3D spatial information.

Building precise 3D data for cultural heritage preservation

Cultural heritage 3D scanning has the advantage of recording the current state of an object in a non-contact manner and preserving its shape and location information as digital data.

The established 3D Scanning data can be used not only for recording the shape of cultural heritage but also as basic data for future preservation and restoration work, and if a 3D Scanning is performed again after a certain period of time, compared with the existing data, data analyzing whether deformation or shape changes occurredcan also be used as.
